Our Work

  • Convening

AAC’s Convening began in 2017 and is a one-of-a-kind annual gathering designed for and by arts leaders. It offers a dedicated space for learning, skill development, and community building. All activities are intentionally designed to uplift BIPOC and Global Majority-identifying artists and administrators.

  • Mentorship

AAC’s Mentorship Program connects prospective and emerging arts administrators of color with experienced mentors, fostering meaningful relationships that support career growth and professional development. Through personalized mentor-mentee pairings, participants receive guidance, expand their networks, and refine their career goals.

  • Virtual Workshops

Professional development workshops equip arts administrators of color with essential and specialized skills tailored to the unique needs of our community. They build knowledge, strengthen skills, and navigate the current political landscape while prioritizing healing and wellness. Sessions feature experts across industries, providing valuable insights and practical tools to support professional and personal growth.

  • Affinity Spaces

AAC provides a space for arts and culture professionals in similar roles to connect, share resources, and support one another. Through virtual meetups, resource banks, peer coaching, and relationship-building opportunities, participants can exchange knowledge, gain insights, and strengthen their networks within the field.

  • Co-Working

Our virtual co-working sessions offer a relaxed and supportive space for artists and administrators of color to work alongside each other. With calming lo-fi beats and an open chat for connection, these sessions create a space for focus, productivity, and community.

  • Pop-Up Programs

AAC partners with leaders across the country to offer in-person community-building opportunities. From casual happy hour meetups to discussions on localized topics, these programs foster connection, collaboration, and engagement within our network.

  • Research

AAC conducts research on key issues affecting our community, collaborating with experts within our network to identify needs, highlight findings, and support knowledge building. Our research informs advocacy efforts, strengthens our initiatives, and helps shape a more equitable arts and culture sector.

  • Advocacy

AAC advocates for the needs, health, and well-being of artists and arts administrators of color. Through specialized initiatives, thought leadership, educational programs, and strategic partnerships with peer organizations and coalitions, we work to elevate our community’s unique challenges and drive meaningful change.
