Kenney Elkomous
Parliamentarian
Kenney Elkomous is an Egyptian American classical guitarist and arts administrator based in Albuquerque, NM.
Prior to beginning a career as a classical musician and arts administrator, he worked in Washington, DC as a federal infrastructure lobbyist, with a special interest in transit equity, affordable housing, and environmental justice. After falling in love with Western art music, especially as expressed by the classical guitar, Kenney refocused his professional pursuits from politics to the performing arts.
Since leaving politics behind, Kenney has held roles as Director of Development for Guitar Fort Worth, Patron Development Manager for the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and currently, Development Manager at NDI New Mexico (National Dance Institute). As a performing artist, his most notable public engagement was the Baby Bach Tour, a self-managed, nationwide tour aimed at bringing classical music to the young and young at heart.
Kenney is a graduate of the University of San Diego, with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Minor in French. In his spare time, he enjoys blasting 90’s R&B from his car (“Tell me it’s real, this feeling that we feel!”), bicycling, dreaming of his next trip to Egypt, copious amounts of coffee, and indulging his gift of gab by meeting as many strangers as possible.
