Michigan Arts Leaders of Color Mixer

Join the Arts Administrators of Color Network (AAC) for a special affinity space designed to connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) artists and arts administrators. This gathering is an opportunity to network with local arts leaders, learn about resources available through AAC, and contribute to strategies that strengthen Michigan’s BIPOC arts and culture community. Together, we’ll create a safe and supportive space to build meaningful connections, share insights on navigating the arts and culture sector, and strategize ways to uplift and sustain one another in our work and communities—both locally and nationally.

👥 Who Should Attend: Students, emerging leaders, executives, individual artists, and arts administrators at all career levels who identity as Black, Indigenous or People of Color.

👥 What to Expect: Networking with local BIPOC arts leaders; an introduction to AAC’s resources and opportunities; informal discussions on community-building, mutual support, and strengthening Michigan’s arts sector; good music, delicious food from a local BIPOC caterer, and refreshing drinks provided by our generous sponsors; and a welcoming space to connect, reflect, and build meaningful relationships.

👥 Capacity is limited to 50 participants. Registration is required.

👥 Location: College for Creative Studies, Taubman Center, 6th Floor Hub in Detroit, MI

This event is sponsored in part by the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance’s EXCEL Lab, the Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Engage @ EMU.
